For most firework shows you will need a wide angle lens. Using a wide angle zoom lens makes it easier to adjust your framing as the show progresses. Occasionally you will need a longer lens for your fireworks composition however.
Below are my favorites.
Nikon 14-24mm f2.8
This lens will give you an ultra wide perspective with the 14mm range. The downside to wider lenses is that most have curved class preventing the use of filters. Neutral Density filters can be a crucial piece of equipment in fireworks photography.
Nikon 24-70mm f2.8
My favorite and most used lens!
Nikon 70-200mm f2.8
A great lens for portraits, but not used as often in fireworks. For shots such as photographing Wishes outside of the Magic Kingdom, this lens is necessary.
